Linda Callaghan is an experienced general practitioner who provides quality legal services to a broad range of clientele. Her clients include individuals, corporations, partnerships and not for profit organizations. As counsel to corporations both large and small, her legal services include advice on acquisitions, mergers, sales, shareholder agreements, leasing and financing. For the not for profit sector and partnerships she provides legal advice on their creation, maintenance and management. Linda also provides legal services in the acquisition, financing and sale of land and buildings, of any kind, whether for individuals buying their first home or corporations selling their apartment buildings.
Linda has a passion for the entertainment industry. Having represented producers, writers and performers in film, television and new media for over 30 years, she offers a depth of experience and knowledge on all aspects of the industry from development and pre-production to financing, insurance, production and distribution.
Linda’s past appointments to noteworthy boards in the entertainment industry include the Edmonton International Film Festival, the National Screen Institute, and Metro Cinema. She recently served as chair of the Broadcast and Regulatory Affairs Committee for the Alberta Media Production Industry Associate. She has also been invited to speak on the topic of entertainment law by such institutes as the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Grant MacEwan University, and Red Deer College, as well as the Faculties of Law and Fine Arts at the University of Alberta.
