Letter to the Minister of Service Alberta Regarding Recommended Changes to the Real Estate Council of Alberta
The Real Estate Council of Alberta (“RECA”) regulates and enforces standards for real estate professionals in the province. On April 21, 2020, Sherry Simons, the Chair of the Canadian Bar Association Real Property (North) section, submitted a letter to the Minister of Service Alberta outlining ten (10) recommendations for improvements to the RECA’s governance and to the process of real estate transactions in the province. These recommendations are aimed at increasing accountability and transparency within the real estate profession with an aim to better serve the interests of the public.
