Celeste earned her law degree at the University of Alberta in 2024. Prior to joining Ackroyd as an articling student, Celeste worked with the Youth Restorative Action Project, advocating for youth involved in the criminal justice system. Her experience empowering marginalized communities facing homelessness, substance use issues, racism, and other barriers inspired her to pursue a career in law.
One of Celeste’s highlights in law school was visiting Australia on exchange. While abroad, she co-authored a report with the South Australian Law Reform Institute on suppression orders and their effects on Indigenous youth. Celeste also competed at the national 2024 Client Consultation Competition featuring complex issues in international humanitarian law. Throughout law school, she served as the first Vice-President Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion on the Law Students’ Association and volunteered with the Human Rights Project at Student Legal Services.
In her free time, Celeste enjoys café-hopping, crafting, volunteering, and reading the latest mystery novels. She leads an active lifestyle and enjoys fitness classes such as rowing, barre, and pilates. Celeste also loves participating in food, music, and cultural festivals, as well as Shakespeare at the Park and other local festivities the city has to offer.
