Selina joined Ackroyd LLP as an Associate in July 2021. Selina maintains a general litigation practice with particular interest in aboriginal law, employment law and civil litigation.
Selina’s previous legal experience has largely been in the non-profit sector, providing free legal services to marginalized community members who faced financial barriers in accessing legal representation. She has experience appearing in various levels of court and administrative tribunals including: the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, Provincial Court of Alberta, and the Residential Tenancies Dispute Resolution Service.
Selina was born and raised in Edmonton and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Alberta, graduating with distinction. During law school at the University of Calgary, Selina was involved in various organizations. This included being a law student ambassador for the University of Calgary, an executive member of the Calgary Women Studying Law Association, and a volunteer with Pro Bono Students Canada’s Civil Claims Duty Counsel project. Her work with this project won her the Pro Bono Law Alberta Outstanding Volunteer Law Student Award.
Outside of the office, Selina enjoys travelling, exploring Edmonton’s food scene, interior design and creating digital art.
