Selina Sahota

Selina joined Ackroyd LLP as an Associate in 2021. Her work at the firm focuses on corporate and commercial law, entertainment law, and regulatory law.

Selina maintains a practice assisting businesses with their corporate and commercial law needs including asset and share purchases, corporate reorganizations, and commercial financing. Selina also assists creative professionals, production companies, and media entities navigate the entertainment industry, providing comprehensive counsel on matters spanning from contract drafting and negotiation to rights acquisition and protection. In addition to her solicitor practice, Selina works in the area of regulatory and environmental law, assisting landowners who have concerns about oil and gas, mining or utility developments on or adjacent to their property.

Selina was born and raised in Edmonton and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Alberta, graduating with distinction. During law school at the University of Calgary, Selina was involved in various organizations including as an executive member of the Calgary Women Studying Law Association, and a volunteer with Pro Bono Students Canada’s Civil Claims Duty Counsel project. Her work with this project won her the Pro Bono Law Alberta Outstanding Volunteer Law Student Award.

Outside of the office, Selina enjoys travelling, exploring Edmonton’s food scene, and interior design.
