Claudia Cotrina Roldan

Claudia Cotrina Roldan is an articling student at Ackroyd LLP, bringing over nine years of extensive international experience as corporate in-house counsel specializing in corporate law, natural resources, and mining law.

Claudia was licensed by the Colegio de Abogados de Lima (Peru) in 2013. After moving to Canada, she completed the University of Alberta’s Internationally Trained Lawyer Program (2023–2024) and earned her NCA Certificate of Qualification in 2024.

Prior to joining the firm, Claudia developed a dynamic career across the Peruvian mining industry. Her background includes working within a national regulatory mining body, serving as Head of Legal for medium and junior mining companies, and acting as a Senior Lawyer for large multinational mining corporations. She has deep practical expertise across all phases of the mining cycle and is highly skilled in navigating complex environmental permits, regulatory frameworks, and negotiating social agreements with local communities in mining areas. Also, her expertise includes drafting and managing supplier agreements, alongside a strong background in corporate labor law.

Fluent in English and Spanish, she loves practicing Pilates, discovering new coffee shops, and traveling home to Peru with her husband and son. She is deeply passionate about giving back and meaningfully supporting her local Latin community.
